Process involved in getting Postal ID Card

To get the valid Postal Address Proof card issued by the Post Offices in India, you will need to get an application for the same either from your neighborhood post office by paying Rs. 10 as application fee or you can alternatively download the application here.  You will need to fill up the postal address proof card properly along with your latest passport size photo and submit the same to your local post office.  You will need to pay Rs. 240 as the service for getting the ID card or address card from post office.

Getting the Card

The usual time that they say to get the valid India post address proof id card is usually 40 days but it may take upto 2 months in some cases to get it.  This will be done after your local post office send your application to the nearest head post office and from there they will send a post man for verification for your residing in your present address.  After all the process is over, you will need to visit your local postoffice again and with your application number ask for the same, and I guess you will need to at least visit two to three times to get it and if in luck you may get your valid address proof card within 40 to 60 days.
