The New BSNL BBG Combo ULD 850 Plan

After the better plan of BSNL 900 Plan, BSNL Broadband has introduced another new plan with effect from February 1, 2011. This is their newest of combo plans which has unlimited usage option for the broadband users.

Features of BBG Combo 850 Plan

Bandwidth of 1 GB upto 8 GB and 256 Kbps beyond that
Unlimited downloads and uploads
No additional charges for upload and downloads
There is no fixed monthly charges for the landline
350 free calls on your landline
You will be given free ADSL Broadband if you commit for a 1 year period on this plan

Other Features and Benefits:

There is a one month security deposit applicable if you are opting for this plan as a new BSNL Broadband user or you are shifting from any other plans to this 850 unlimited plan. You will be given one free email ID with this plan. There is no option of availing static IP address with this plan but will be given a dynamic IP only.

If you are looking for a plan with high free calls without any additional landline charges but looking for an unlimited plan from BSNL, then this new BBG Combo ULD 850 Plan is an ideal one for you, but the only thing that pushes this plan slightly backward is its speed of 256 kbps beyond 8 GB usage, which can prove only beneficial for the regular browsers and not for those looking for huge download usage.

If you are a casual internet user with just browsing and checking emails, etc as your part of internet usage, this is an ideal plan else if you are in individual that downloads and uploads large data then opt for a better or higher BSNL plan which offers great speed but at a cost.

BSNL STD at Local Call Rates

The BSNL Telephones has recently announced rate change for their STD rates and have made all STD calls across India as local calls which mean that all the existing BSNL land line or fixed line users can call any landline number across India at a 3 minute pulse rate. This is coming into being from December 1, 2010. This literally means that you can call any number in India at local call rates. This offer is applicable for the new as well as existing users of BSNL landline in India. Now, we can expect all the call rates of other landline and mobile companies in India to come down drastically as well due to this move by BSNL, which is indeed a welcome one.

BSNL Super Speed Broadband plans (up to 24 Mbps)

BSNL Broadband has introduced some high speed Super Speed combo Broadband plans of up to 24 Mbps speed for the high end either business or home users. But none of these plans come with unlimited usage but instead they have a free usage restriction when it comes download or upload. This is a new plan exclusively brought out by BSNL For this Diwali.

BBG Speed Combo 2799 comes with monthly charges of Rs. 2799 plus tax and the download speed being up to 8 Mbps. While the free usage being 50 GB and you will be charge at the applicable rates after 50 GB. Also you will get 300 free calls with this plan. This plan is available for all users.

BBG Speed Combo 4500 is a plan with monthly charge of Rs. 4500 plus tax. This plan from BSNL Broadband is also applicable for all users, whether home or business users. The download speed being up to 8 Mbps. The free usage being 75 GB and the free calls with this plan is 1000 calls.

BBG Super Speed Combo 4999 with monthly plan charge of Rs. 4999 plus taxes. The download speed for this plan is up to 16 Mbps. The Free usage being 110 GB and download charges applicable thereafter. There are 500 free calls applicable in this plan. This plan is also available for all users.

The BBG Super Speed Combo 9999 plan has a monthly plan charges of Rs. 9999 and tax. This plan is available for all. The download speed for this plan is up to a whopping 24 Mbps. But the download free usage limit is only 220 GB which I guess at this speed might get finished or over within a week if you are heavy user or downloader. The free calls applicable for this plan is 1000.

There is no landline rental for any of the plans mentioned above. BSNL has also waived off the installation charges of Rs. 750 for these plans for new users and hence you get free installation.

Although looks lucrative the only drawback being there is no unlimited plans available for the above mentioned super speed combo plans from BSNL which I guess and hope will be introduced soon.

BSNL Broadband Home Combo ULF 900

This is the plan I recently opted for from the regular Unlimited home combo 750. This is because of the fact that this plan offered 400 free calls when compared to the 750 BSNL plan which did not offer any free calls at all. Here is a review of this Home Combo 900 from BSNL Broadband at least from what I experienced so far at least for the past 2 months.

Home 900 Plan Features:

This is an unlimited broadband plan from BSNL and according to me the best BSNL broadband plan for the regular users. This plan is available only for the home users. The bandwidth of this plan comes with a cap. For up to 8 GB upload or download your speed will be 512 Kbps and after that your speed will be 256 Kbps.

Charges:

The monthly charges for this plan is Rs. 900 and there is an option of annual discount at the price of Rs. 9000 and thus you will get two months discount if opted for annual plan. The download and upload limit for this plan of Home Combo 900 is unlimited, although there is a cap of 8 GB to get a speed of 512 Kbps.

You will get as usual one email ID with this plan with 5 MB space (does anyone really use this email id?).

There is a refundable security deposit for this plan of one month charges, i.e., Rs. 900 which is refundable in case you change plans or close your broadband with BSNL. The minimum hire period for this plan is one month.

Advantages:

There are no fixed monthly charges under this plan. But you will get free 400 free calls (MCU) applicable for this plan which makes this plan ideal for those who need to use the landline as well as the broadband alike. 400 free calls make sure that you will not need to cough up extra money for the calls you make.

There is an option of availing free modem for those who opt for 12 months committed period for new BSNL Connections. And the free modem will be an ADSL Basic modem.

BSNL Broadband Home 900 plan is the ideal plan for those who don’t require to use huge download and speed is not a criterion for them and the best plan for general browsing only plan.

New Unlimited Plans from BSNL Broadband

BSNL has introduced new rates on its existing or new unlimited broadband plans. The one plan which has been already there was the 256 kbps at Rs. 750 per month plan where you would have to pay also your land line rental. Now they have introduced Home UL 750 Plus where you will not have any landline rentals and also no free calls and hence it means that you can only surf unlimited at the speed of 256 kbps. You have the option of opting for annual charges at Rs. 7500 for this plan as well.

Another new plan which started as Home UL 1350 was I guess converted to Home UL 900, where you get the speed of 512 Kbps and also you will get 400 free calls which I guess is a good plan considering also there are no additional landline rentals for this plan. The speed of 512 Kbps is valid only up the download of 8 GB and after that the speed will be reduced to 256 Kbps. But the plan is an unlimited plan for the whole month. The total rental exclusive of tax for this plan is Rs. 900 per month or Rs. 9000 per year.

Similarly there is a new plan at Rs. 1000 at 1 Mbps speed, probably Home UL 1000 where you get unlimited download and upload at Rs. 1000 per month or Rs. 10,000 per year. Also you get 450 free voice calls with this plan and also seems a good new plan after a very long time from BSNL Broadband.

The another plan is the 2 Mbps speed plan which is available for Rs. 1100 per month It is Home UL 1100 plan and you get surf at 2 Mbps speed and you also get Rs. 500 worth free voice calls with this plan.

Also they have introduced special offer of 15 days of free download at 2 Mbps for all plans if you book it before March 31, 2010. These plans are based on Chennai and I am not aware whether these plans are applicable for other cities in India as well, you will need to check at the BSNL website for the same.

Latest Update: The BBHome Combo ULF 900 plans cost Rs. 900 per month with speed of 512 Kbps for the first 8 GB and 256 Kbps after that with 400 free calls. Similarly for the BBHome Combo ULF 1000 plan, Rs. 1000 per month speed 1 Mbps for the first 9 GB and after that 256 Kbps with 450 free calls. Likewise BB Home Combo ULF 110 comes at Rs. 1100 per month and speed of 2 Mbps up to 10 GB and after that speed at 256 Kbps with 500 free calls.

Also there is the existing plans BB Home UL 1350 at Rs. 1350 per month at a speed of 512 Kbps and 250 free calls. BB Home Combo ULF 1499 at Rs. 1499 per month at 1 Mbps for first 25 GB and at 256 Kbps later and 150 free calls as well as free games and movies and video on demand. BB Home Combo ULF 2999 at Rs. 2999 per month at a speed of 2 Mbps for the first 50 GB and 256 Kbps later with 300 free calls and games and music and video on demand free.
