After quite some time Derby, the leading men’s wear brand having its headquarters in Chennai has come up with their annual or regular sale of up 70% off is on from today, February 23, 2011.  This I heard will be on till March 6, 2011 or may extend it depending upon the response.

Price Range

With this up to 70% off sale the shirts range starts from Rs. 399 and above.  The trousers price starts from Rs. 499 and above.  While the denims (men’s jeans) range starts from Rs. 499 and till Rs. 999.   The T-shirt price starts from Rs. 199 and above.  This is the discounted price for this sale.

Difference This Year

Unlike the previous years’ sale, this time Derby has made a lot of changes to its sale structure.  In the previous years there used to at the max two to three price range of shirts, trousers, jeans and trousers.  But this time around there are three to five ranges of price depending upon the type of material you have chosen and hence the regular and genuine price reduction you see with Derby Sale is missing this year as the price even touches Rs. 1000 above for the trousers and denims and shirts this time, which was not the case in their previous sale or discount offers.  It used to be not more than Rs. 500 to 600 or around.

My Opinion

Hence the fizz which we associate with Derby Sale in Chennai is missing this year, at least from what I could feel.  I am regular to Derby sale shopper but this time, I found the price to be way high than that of their regular sale price offer and hence for the first time, I came out of their store empty handed!
