After all the new phones from China which has the looks of the business phones with Qwerty keypad, here is yet another one and this time it is Icon G8, a business cum social networking phone for us.  It is being sole exclusively via the TVC Skyshop in India.

Specifications:

This Icon G8 mobile phone comes with the 2.0 inch screen with high resolution.  It is a dual SIM phone as usual. Both SIM are for GSM.  As said above it has a QWERTY keypad with 4 way navigation option. It comes with an inbuilt memory of 32 MB and expandable up to 2 GB.  It has a battery capacity of 120 to 200 hours of standby time.

Music:

Icon G8 has wireless FM radio as well as the MP3 player and also plays the following video formats namely AVI and 3GP (video player) and the following audio formats namely MP3, WAV, MIDI, and AMR.

Connectivity:

You can connect via the Bluetooth, WAP, GPRS, USB mass storage etc.  It also has the regular 1.3 MP Camera which apart from taking regular pictures can capture videos.

Applications:

It comes bundled with the following applications namely Google, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, MSN and eBuddy and also with the option of adding in on more such similar apps in it.  You can even use it as an ebook reader.

Apart from the above Icon G-8 has all the regular features of a similar business cum social network phone that has flooded the Indian Mobile market.  For example world clock, alarm clock, calculator, scheduler, currency convertor, etc.

Price:

It is priced at Rs. 2890 along with some freebies when buy from the TVC Sky Shop and elsewhere as well.  It comes with 6 months warranty as well.  It seems TVC has around 400+ service centers for servicing it as well.

Only advantage of such mobiles is their price in which you get loads of features for nearly half of the price of the branded mobiles!  Hence you can just buy and use it for around one year and go for the next one in case it is creating issues later!
