The German car maker Volkswagen has introduced a new car which is entirely made in India but using German engineering.  It is a super mini car from Volkswagen specially made for India with the conditions prevailing here.  The New Polo is one of the most awaited hatchback model from Volkswagen especially in India.  It was launched as both diesel and petrol models.  It was officially launched in the recent car expo and will be officially available to buy from March 7, 2010.

Colour:
The New Volkswagen Polo comes in 3 color variants in both metallic and non-metallic models.  The three colors in non-metallic are Candy White, Flash Red and Summer Blue and while for the metallic variant is Reflex Silver, Ice Silver and Shadow Blue.

Engine:
Volkswagen Polo comes with 1.2 L engine and delivers 75 PS (around 55 kW) power but at the same time with high fuel efficiency to suit the Indian conditions.  Also available in 1.4 L option diesel engine.  While its ground clearance is also handled by taking into consideration the hard Indian road conditions.  Volkswagen Polo can touch 100 kmph in just 11.1 seconds.

Safety Features:
The New Polo has advanced safety features like ABS locking, dual front airbags, Electronic brake-force distribution (EBD), and ESP.  It has additional features like body colored bumper, handles and front grill.  From the safety front it has belt tensioners and ISOFIX child seat option.

The New Volkswagen Polo is estimated to be priced between Rs. 4 lakhs to Rs. 7 lakhs, at different cities in India.
