When it was launched, Hindustan Unilever Pure-It was said to be the most cheapest of all the water purifiers available in India, at just Rs. 1500.  It is now priced at Rs. 2000 only, it can still qualify as the cheapest water purifier in India.  It actually assures us of 100% freedom from most of the water-borne diseases in India like Jaundice, typhoid, diarrhea, cholera, etc.  Pure-it is said to have a feature namely Pureit germkill action where it has some features which function in keeping the water as pure as boiled water.  I myself had brought it after going through various Pureit reviews though.

Why Pure-It

With Hindustan Unilever’s PureIt, you don’t have to boil the water and there is no gas required to get it work or even it does not require electricity.  Unlike any other water purifiers like Aqua Guard or others, this Pure-It does not require continuous water supply via a tap and hence no additional plumbing or maintenance is required.  The water tastes better than the tap water for sure.

Features:

PureIt comes with a capacity of 18 litres at a time, which is inclusive of the pureitwhole chamber in which you pour the water and store.  It is made of high quality plastic material and hence no odour and is absolutely safe to store water.

Colours:

Pure-it comes in two colours namely Burgundy and Royal Blue.

How Pureit works?

Pureit has four way filtration procedure and these four processes makes the regular tap water into drinkable and safe water to drink straight from it without any additional boiling or further purification.

Pureit has a special Microfibre Mesh which is the top part in which you pour water and this is where all the visible dirt is removed.  Secondly the water enters the compact carbon trap where the remaining dirt, pesticides, and harmful parasites are removed.  Thirdly the Germkill Processor where the pre-programmed chlorine release technology is released and the germkill power which is stored inside kills all the harmful bacteria and viruses.  Next, the polisher, where the water is further purified by removing the excess chlorine, as well as making the water clear, odourless as well as the tasty.

Germkill Life Indicator:

This is the special indicator which will tell us that we need to change the Germkill Kit or otherwise popularly known as Pureit battery.  There will be special indicator where we can see it to be in white colour and once it starts changes the colour to red, at least 75% red then it is time for us to get ourselves a new Germkill kit by calling the Pure-It Helpline.  With the advanced the auto switch-off facility, you will not be able to get water once the indictor fully turns into red and hence posing as additional safety mechanism and thus you get only pure drinkable water always.

Price:

At present the price of Pure-it is Rs. 2000 which is inclusive of all taxes and charges.  The germkill kit costs Rs. 365.  This battery can be brought by calling the Hindustan Unilever Pureit customer care number 0-9223 200 200.  And as they claim we can get water at the rate of Rs. 1 per 4 litres via the Pureit water purifier.

This Pure-It water purifier from Hindustan Unilever claims to us that the water we get from this is as safe as boiled water.  Just note the point here, that it is only as safe as boiled water and not as safe as mineral or as pure as mineral water.  I guess you get all the benefits of a boiled water if you use the Pure-it.  Overall this water purifier can be claimed be the cheapest but cannot be claimed as to be as safe as any other advanced water purifiers like reverse osmosis or Ozone based water purifiers that major brands like Aquaguard, Philips, Whirlpool, Kent, etc. have.
